EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl Plasterable Airtight Pipe Sealing Grommet

The EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl airtight pipe sealing grommet is a self-adhesive, plasterable sealing solution designed for permanent airtight sealing of pipe and service penetrations through walls, floors and other building structures. It is especially suitable for professional construction applications where an airtight connection to mineral or absorbent substrates must be integrated into a plastered surface.

The one-piece airtight sealing grommet features a large fleece-butyl adhesive collar, combining a strong butyl adhesive layer with a synthetic nonwoven fleece surface. This construction enables a durable bond to substrates such as concrete, sand-lime brick, OSB boards and wood-fibre boards while providing an excellent surface for plaster adhesion.

Unlike conventional sealing grommets, the plasterable fleece surface allows the collar to be integrated directly into plaster systems. Important: The fleece-butyl adhesive collar must be plastered over to achieve the required airtightness.

The grommet incorporates a highly flexible 60 mm high EPDM sealing sleeve with integrated kink protection and strain relief. The permanently elastic EPDM rubber offers high ageing resistance and accommodates structural movement while maintaining a flexible seal around the pipe.

The product range includes several diameters for different pipe installations. Depending on the selected variant, the self-adhesive sealing collar measures 230 × 230 mm, 320 × 320 mm or 350 × 350 mm.

These grommets are suitable for interior and exterior applications, including plastered walls, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), screed installations and floor slab penetrations.

The product is designed in accordance with DIN 4108-7 and EnEV 2014. The manufacturer also specifies GTÜ testing for the listed RGD variants.

Applications & Usage

The EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl pipe sealing grommet is designed for airtight sealing of pipes and service penetrations through walls and floors where a plasterable connection is required.

Typical substrates include concrete, sand-lime brick, OSB boards, wood-fibre boards and other suitable mineral or absorbent building materials.

It is particularly suitable for masonry penetrations, plastered walls, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), screed constructions and floor slabs.

Installation: Select the grommet according to the pipe diameter. Position the flexible EPDM sleeve around the pipe and bond the self-adhesive fleece-butyl collar to the prepared substrate following the manufacturer's instructions.

Depending on the substrate condition, pretreatment with BUBI LF adhesion primer may be required.

The fleece-butyl collar must be covered with plaster to complete the airtight seal. The synthetic fleece surface provides a suitable bonding layer between the adhesive collar and plaster.
