EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl Plasterable Airtight Pipe Sealing Grommet

The EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl plasterable airtight pipe sealing grommet is a professional self-adhesive sealing solution designed for the permanent airtight sealing of pipe and service penetrations through walls, floors and other building structures. It is particularly suitable for applications where a durable, plasterable connection to mineral or absorbent substrates is required.

The one-piece airtight sealing grommet features a self-adhesive fleece-butyl collar, combining a high-strength butyl adhesive layer with a synthetic nonwoven fleece surface. This construction provides strong adhesion to concrete, sand-lime brick, OSB boards and wood-fibre boards, while allowing the sealing collar to be incorporated into plastered surfaces.

The integrated EPDM rubber sealing sleeve is permanently elastic, resistant to ageing and designed to accommodate minor structural movement. Its integrated kink protection and strain relief help protect the airtight seal from mechanical stress around the pipe penetration.

The product range includes the GD22 and GD23 variants, featuring sealing sleeves of different diameters and heights to accommodate various pipe sizes. Depending on the selected version, the sealing collar measures 150 × 150 mm or 230 × 230 mm.

These plasterable pipe sealing grommets are suitable for interior and exterior applications, including masonry walls, concrete structures, wood-fibre boards, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), screed areas and floor slabs.

Important: To achieve the required airtightness, the fleece-butyl adhesive collar must be covered with plaster.

The grommets are designed in accordance with DIN 4108-7 and EnEV 2014, and the specified GD variants are GTÜ tested.

Applications & Usage

The EISEDICHT Vlies-Butyl pipe sealing grommet is designed for airtight sealing of pipe and service penetrations where a plasterable connection to the building structure is required.

Typical substrates include concrete, sand-lime brick, OSB boards, wood-fibre boards and other suitable mineral or absorbent construction materials.

The grommet is particularly suitable for masonry penetrations, plastered wall surfaces, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), screed installations and floor slab applications.

Installation: Select the appropriate grommet according to the pipe diameter. Position the flexible EPDM sleeve around the pipe and bond the self-adhesive fleece-butyl collar to the prepared substrate following the manufacturer's instructions.

Depending on the substrate condition, pretreatment with BUBI LF adhesion primer may be necessary.

The fleece-butyl collar must be plastered over to achieve the required airtightness. The synthetic fleece surface ensures a suitable bonding layer between the adhesive collar and the plaster.
