The Makita DBN640Z LXT 18V cordless metal connector nailer is a professional battery-powered fastening tool designed for installing metal connectors in timber structures. Featuring a pneumatic spring mechanism and a powerful brushless motor, it delivers precise nail driving without the need for an external compressor or air hose.

The nailer is suitable for round-head metal connector nails with lengths from 38–64 mm and diameters from 3.3–4.1 mm. Its specially designed pointed nose allows accurate positioning in metal connector holes, making it ideal for fastening structural brackets, joist hangers and other metal-to-timber connections.

The fully sequential firing mechanism ensures controlled single-nail operation. An adjustable depth control dial allows the nail driving depth to be adapted to the application, while the anti-dry-fire mechanism automatically locks the contact arm when approximately four to five nails remain in the magazine. A side viewing window makes it easy to monitor the remaining nails.

The 31-nail magazine, with an angle of 30–35°, provides convenient handling during repetitive fastening tasks. The nailer's compact nose design also improves accessibility in corners and confined installation spaces.

The tool features eXtreme Protection Technology (XPT), designed to improve resistance to dust and water ingress in demanding working environments. An integrated LED work light, with pre-glow and after-glow functions, improves visibility in poorly lit working areas.

For convenient storage and handling, the nailer is equipped with two mounting hooks: a belt hook on the left side and a rafter hook on the right side. The rafter hook allows the tool to be hung from ladders, scaffolding or timber structures. A hex wrench used for magazine installation and removal can be stored at the rear of the magazine.

The Makita DBN640Z operates on the 18V LXT lithium-ion battery platform and is supplied without a battery.
