Description
Specifications
The Makita DBN901 is an 18 V cordless framing nailer from the LXT® system equipped with a brushless motor and an air-spring drive mechanism. This enables driving 50 – 90 mm round-head nails with performance comparable to pneumatic nailers, but without requiring hoses or air compressors.
Primary application: Intended for first-fix framing work such as joists, battens, timber studs or roof structures where large-format nails (50 – 90 mm) are required.
Operating principle: Utilises an air-spring mechanism accelerated by a brushless motor to drive nails. Features selectable actuation modes: full sequential actuation (single nail per trigger pull) or contact (bump) actuation for faster repetitive nailing.
Key advantages:
-
Cordless design means no compressor or hose needed, reducing tripping hazards and enabling quieter operation.
-
Depth-adjustment dial allows precise control of nail penetration.
-
LED job-light with pre‐glow and after‐glow improves visibility in work zones.
-
Anti-dry fire mechanism stops the tool from firing when nail supply is nearly depleted, protecting the workpiece and drive pin.
-
Anti-slip nose tip improves grip when driving nails at an angle.

-
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye and ear protection when nailing.
-
The tool is designed for framing and heavy-duty applications, not for fine finish-work or precision joinery where smaller fasteners are used.
-
Regularly check and maintain the magazine, nose piece and ensure the depth dial is set correctly for the material being nailed.
