Description

Specifications

The Makita DDF490Z 18V cordless drill driver is a compact and powerful brushless drill and screwdriver designed for professional construction, carpentry, installation and renovation work. Delivering a maximum torque of 65 Nm, it provides efficient performance for drilling holes and driving screws into wood, metal and other suitable materials.

The drill driver features a brushless motor, a two-speed mechanical gearbox and 20 torque settings for precise control during different fastening tasks. Its lightweight construction and electronic brake make it practical for regular professional and everyday use.

Powerful Brushless Motor

The brushless motor provides efficient power delivery and eliminates the need for carbon brush replacement.

With a maximum torque of 65 Nm, the DDF490Z is suitable for a wide range of drilling and screwdriving applications, from furniture assembly to more demanding timber fastening tasks.

Two Mechanical Speeds

The two-speed gearbox allows the user to select the appropriate combination of rotational speed and torque:

  • 1st gear: 0–500 rpm – suitable for controlled screwdriving and tasks requiring greater torque.
  • 2nd gear: 0–1900 rpm – suitable for faster drilling and lighter fastening applications.

The 20 adjustable torque settings help control screwdriving force and reduce the risk of overtightening fasteners or damaging the workpiece.

Drilling and Screwdriving Modes

The Makita DDF490Z offers two main operating functions: drilling and screwdriving.

The drill driver is capable of drilling holes up to 38 mm in wood and 13 mm in steel, depending on the drill bit and working conditions.

The 13 mm drill chuck capacity allows the use of suitable drill bits and screwdriver accessories for different installation tasks.

This model does not have a hammer drilling function and is not intended for hammer drilling in masonry or concrete.

Electronic Brake and Compact Design

The electronic brake helps stop the tool's rotation quickly after releasing the trigger, providing additional control during precise drilling and fastening operations.

With a stated weight of approximately 1.4 kg, the drill driver is designed for comfortable handling and convenient use in different working positions.

18V Lithium-Ion Battery System

The Makita DDF490Z is powered by an 18V lithium-ion battery.

This is a body-only version, supplied without a battery or charger. The battery and charger must be obtained separately.
