Description
Specifications
The RiveStop 5 bar is a mechanical sealing plug designed for permanently closing formwork tie-rod holes in concrete structures. It provides a watertight seal up to 5 bar of hydrostatic pressure.
It is available with stainless steel outer washer.
Usage:
-
Suitable for sealing tie-rod holes (from formwork) in cast-in-place concrete walls where waterproofing is required.
-
Applicable in new construction or refurbishment, in structures such as basements, water retention tanks, tunnel linings, parking garages, etc.
-
The mechanical rivet system expands inside the hole and locks into the structure, creating a permanent seal.
How it works:
1. Insert the RiveStop unit into the prepared tie-hole (diameter as per specification).

2. Use a rivet tool (manual or electric) to activate; the internal mandrel breaks off when the correct expansion is achieved.

3. The rubber body expands (~50% of its original diameter) pressing uniformly against the hole walls, forming the seal.

Benefits:
-
Provides a reliable watertight seal with minimal human variability.
-
Quick installation: only a few seconds per hole.
Safety and use-recommendations:
-
Ensure hole diameter, length and installation tool are compatible with the specific RiveStop reference.
-
Store in original packaging, protected from direct sunlight and moisture until use.
-
Installation should follow manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure full expansion and correct activation.
-
Although rated to 5 bar, it is important to consider site conditions (chemical exposure, movement, temperature) and check compatibility with concrete/water environment.
Technical Specifications (example ranges):
-
Rated hydrostatic pressure: up to 5 bar for the 5 bar version.
-
Hole diameter range: suited for inner hole diameter 18-35 mm.
-
Materials: Rubber body, aluminium rivet/mandrel, outer washer stainles steel.
