Simpson Strong-Tie SDE Width Adjustable Joist Hanger SDED340/30, Right Piece, for 60–250 mm Joists

Simpson Strong-Tie SDE joist hanger (SDED340/30) is a two-piece, width adjustable face fix hanger for timber joists from 60 to 250 mm wide.

The SDE system consists of two separate components that can be positioned to suit the joist width, so one hanger covers a wide range of joist sizes in both new build and refurbishment work. Each SDE is supplied as a pair.

The hanger is made of galvanised steel S250GD + Z275 (EN 10346). It has optional bolt holes (Ø 13 mm) and can be fixed to a timber, concrete or steel supporting member.

Joist hanger installation

On timber:

• CNA annular ring-shank nails Ø 4.0 x 50 mm
• Lag screws or bolts Ø 10 or Ø 12 mm

On concrete:

• Mechanical anchor: WA M12-104/5 wedge anchor
• Chemical anchor: AT-HP resin + LMAS M12-150/35 threaded rod

On hollow masonry (check the load-bearing capacity of the anchors):

• Chemical anchor: AT-HP or POLY-GP resin + LMAS M12-150/35 threaded rod + SH M16-130 screen

Use all specified fasteners and check that the header can accommodate them. Each SDE piece must also be nailed through the holes underneath the joist.
